Jesus Christ Superstar has wowed audiences for more than 50 years. Loosely based on the events portrayed in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, it takes place during the last week of Christ鈥檚 life, as seen through the eyes of Judas Iscariot. 91社区福利’s fully designed and staged production brings this perspective to life, imagining Jesus, Judas, Mary, and the disciples as members of a 1970s rock band on the verge of global recognition.
This production contains depictions and themes of alcohol use, betrayal, blasphemy, crucifixion, drug use, flogging, kissing, and suicide. Actor- and audience-safe, water-based haze will be used in the production, along with flashing lights and amplified sound. Jesus Christ Superstar is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of The Really Useful Group.
